Kindness is Spiritual

Hi Everyone,
In my last blog i spoke about random acts of kindness, smiles and attention given
being the answer for many people. We all understand that once someone feels like
they matter, they are needed or they are not invisible in life, their heart starts to beat a
little faster with encouragement and from that their thinking and outlook can change
drastically.

The question now comes about the spirituality and power of all this. On my mind this
week were so many stories where Jesus reached out and influenced lives from the very
foundation of kindness, compassion and understanding.

We are reminded that He was moved with compassion when He reached out and
touched the lepers of society. The ones that were isolated and not thought worthy of
His Love or the attention of the community.

We are reminded of the 4 men who carried their friend up to a roof and then let him
down at the feet of Jesus. Jesus noted that it was the friends’ faith that bought the
answers to the man in need. Kindness and a love that was willing to be
inconvenienced was what it took to position this man where his life was healed and
changed.

We are reminded of the good Samaritan who showed love by stopping to do all that
was necessary to help a stranger who was robbed and injured. Other religious people
who should have been the ones to stop and help, kept going, not wanting to be
inconvenienced, or possibly putting themselves in harms way or maybe not wanting to
pay the cost needed to be of assistance. This man was healed because someone was
willing to pay the price of love.

When we think of what the bible calls the fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace,
forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control, these are
the way of life that bring influence and change to others and ourselves. They are most
times the doorway to the miraculous.

Kindness opened the door for the man who was healed, compassion opened the door
for the lepers, love in action opened the door for the man who was robbed and beaten.

When it is not in our ability to help someone out of their circumstance, we can love by
doing what we can and showing heart compassion by praying in faith for them.

Love is what we do for others, what we say to others and by this we can make a
difference to both, the stranger and the friend.

I always hope this brings encouragement, strength and thought to you,

God bless,
Adrienne

  1. I like this blog, the references in scripture where kindness and compassion are shown are a reminder to us to be intentional to likewise be there for others in their need.
